This was such a brilliant and nuanced piece of reporting: looking not only at the underlying facts, but closely examining the subtleties and suggestiveness of the language used in reports about the lab-leak theory from the very beginning.

It's really rare that a reporter's attention to detail and the close-reading meta-analysis of other journalists' (unconscious) biases is so well-revealed and documented.

It should be at the top of HN in my view, but unfortunately interest has faded in the entire topic - so paradoxically the 'cover-up' has worked by other means: boredom and tristesse.
