While I generally hate touchscreens in cars from a safety standpoint, I find it so infuriating when you can't use your touch screen in the car just because you're moving.
Google voice recognition is so bad in AndroidAuto that typing is often the only way to enter something. And when I have my girlfriend driving next to me my car shouldn't stop her from being able to type in the next address. I shouldn't need to stop for her to enter something.
This isn't particularly new, you could do this before so long as you designated that you were a passenger. A number of the games don't work unless it is in full screen mode - in which case it won't allow you to do so unless the car is parked.
