When is the crash? I need a new card but I am hopping to get one once the demand drops sharply enough that the price collapses.

Some how I have the feeling Nvidia and AMD will prevent that from happening.

Never. Shipments are still lower than pre pandemic and more cards are going into AI research and crypto scammer than ever.
> Shipments are still lower than pre pandemic

That is contradicted by the headline and the data in the article. GPU shipments were 10.5 million units in Q3 2018 and 12.7 million units in Q3 2021.

and 16mil in Q1 2018 according to that source. This data doesnt seem consistent with earlier reports by same company

>Jon Peddie Research released a report about the discrete graphics card market in Q4 2010. Unit shipments came in at 72.8 million units

maybe they count cpu embedded in the 'discrete' category?

no, they have separate categories for those. So how did we come from 70 Million units in 2010 to 12mil today?

In fact every single report from them has different numbers https://www.jonpeddie.com/press-releases/jon-peddie-research...
