Ask HN: How do you praise an open source project?

After using a particular feature of an open source project today I found myself wanting to offer some public praise to the project maintainers saying how useful that feature is.

The only option I could think of to do that was to open an issue in their issue queue which seems a little off, so how do people here offer praise?

You can post here, Reddit, Discord, or other social media you find useful. Additionally, if you like what they do, star them on GitHub.

Posting to social media assumes that the maintainers actually read whichever network you happen to be posting to. I guess linking to the project might make it more discoverable.

I did star the project on github, but that doesn't provide a way to target a particular feature for praise.
