"the internet is better and faster for basically everybody than it was when net neutrality ended—in fact, it's better and faster than at any point in the past."
Mhh the internet has been getting better than any point in the past /all the time/.
So in order to prove that abolishing net neutrality was a good idea, they would need to show that it got better than the level it was going to improve anyway.
Reason covers the news from a libertarian perspective. Although there is much variation among libertarian beliefs, libertarians are commonly described as socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Libertarians uphold freedom as their highest principle and moral value. They seek to maximize individual choice and voluntary association in society and in policymaking, advocating minimal state intervention in private decision making. As such, libertarians emphasize the importance of free markets. Reason's tagline is "Free Minds and Free Markets."
Reason is transparent about its libertarian philosophy. There is debate as to whether libertarian philosophy is right-wing or left-wing; some have pointed out there is a left-right divide within libertarianism itself.
Just because the internet is better (by whatever metric) than before, doesn't mean the current policy is detrimental to the growth. ie. Internet might have been even 'better' if Net Neutrality wasn't repealed.
Certainly, with the fragmentation of streaming services, I'd hardly say the internet is better than 4 years ago.

If anything this shows that net neutrality wasn't the problem
