Ask HN: Are we in the new dot-com bubble of crazy IPOs (2021 edition)?
Accordingly to some public data, in 2021 we have enoumeous number of IPOs, including such companies as:- Reddit
- HashiCorp
- GitLab
- Transferwise (now Wise)
- Udemy
- Duolingo
- Couchbase
- UiPath
- Coinbase
- Coursera
- DigitalOcean
- Roblox
and also > 1000 lesser known companies (or at least, lesser known to engineering community). There were 480 IPOs in 2020, 232 in 2019.
This makes me think: are we about to see the 2000s bubble crash soon or it's different this time?
