its over?
Don't be disingenuous.

"Emergency powers" are not how a democratic republic operates. If you want a law to force people to wear a mask or mandate a vaccine it should be made a law through Congress or through the state assemblies - not by edict by an overzealous president, governor, or un-elected "health" bureaucrat (especially ones with no actual medical degrees).

We are now entering year three of the "emergency" so please spare us all your covidian bullshit.

It is normal for ICUs to run near capacity, at least in the large city I live in. 8% of all ICU intake was Covid related at the largest 'medical city' in the world. This is increasing week over week, and will likely rise some more going into Winter.

That said, deaths are very low year over year and this is in a city where the majority of the population wears no masks, and has a very low vaccination rate. While Covid isn't 'over', it's perceived relevance is waning, despite the constant barrage of news articles.

It's not an emergency anymore. Either you have non-emergency mechanisms for dealing with it, or you wasted the last two years. If you have to use emergency powers to deal with Covid today, you fail at governing.

("You" not meaning the parent, obviously...)
