Spies may be storing data to decrypt with a future quantum computer (newscientist.com)

By the time they get there, the stored data would no longer be fresh. If they are, for example, storing CPU designs to decrypt some time way out in the future, it will have been antiquated already.

Given the cost of "quantum decryption" and the age of the data, I am skeptical of this.
