I'm with DHH 100%. TDD is a form of premature optimization where you are prematurely optimizing for code coverage. In the early stages, requirements rapidly change and writing twice the amount of code for modules that will ultimately be sent to the trash is insane. TDD proponents are so ridiculously dogmatic and drunk on Kool-Aid that they won't even listen to someone with a pragmatic approach to testing.
