Ask HN: Software Engineers and the Gig Economy

Hi HN,

I am a senior software engineer and I am starting to work as a freelancer.

In between projects, I'd like to find short tasks (up to a few weeks) that would provide me a decent additional income (min. hourly rate > €60/$70).

I know about platforms like Upwork for Fiverr, but the rates on these platforms are significantly lower.

Is there any alternative for on-call developers? My expertise is mostly in Python, C++, Haskell and Scala.
