I recently found out an acquaintance of mine (didn't see him in a long time but sort of keep on touch online) almost died of covid. He wrote his experience in a local magazine -- did not get vaccinated because he was on the fence, got sick, followed every doctors orders but it progressed quickly and he ended up in the hospital. He was the first person in two weeks he spent there to leave the room alive, on the worst day it was six people that died. Nobody died peacefully. The medics advised him to look through the window when somebody was getting reanimated. Some were brought back to life, only to succumb in the days after that.
Unfortunately, it looks as if this got flagged. I think it is a major issue with all this misinformation (from ivermectin, HCQ and so on all the way to seeing health care employees as being murderers) that this weaponization of the internet is now so far out of control that it is costing lives, both directly because people cause each other to not vaccinate but use all kinds of quackery instead and indirectly because health care workers have been quitting in fairly large numbers, not on account of the pandemic itself but on account of how they are being treated.
The fact that the entire comment section is talking about how sorry they are for the doctor because patients were rude to him and one even punched him - in the background of a story that is talking about a pandemic rushing through his community and killing/torturing so many people - really made me pause.
This is the level of inhuman the unvaccinated have attained from the rest of society.
But only the ones that behave inhumanly to those trying their best to help.
Fundamentally this is an education problem and the leaders of Western society in their desire for for votes pander to unscientific, uneducated but popular freaking memes, for god's sake. And this behaviour is mimicked by the populace they lead. It's a downward spiral that may have more momentum than humanity has the willpower to resist.

That level being, assaulting the people trying to save their lives and the lives of their loved ones, because of a paranoid conspiracy theory?
Good riddance.
