Great Prosperity (1947-77) vs. Great Regression (1981-?) (plus.google.com)

An amazing infographic was posted here, but I think it is missing one key element: population statistics.

From http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=USA+population+1947-2011 I learn that... In 1947, USA population was 144 million people. In 2010, USA population was 309 million people.

Would this alter the lesson of this graphic?
