Ask HN: What books to read before next year

5 points by thorin ↗ HN
Long term programmer/architect in business IT. Work is quiet so I was thinking of starting a new technical book. I think the only one I managed to read fully this year was Designing Data Intensive Systems, which seemed to fit exactly with my needs at the time.

I've also spent a little bit of time filling gaps in knowledge around Security, Networking, Cloud and Devops.

Any suggestions from the crowd?

It's a little dry but the Google SRE book is a good compliment to designing data intensive applications.

I have this site saved as well, it seems to be a good source of technical books.

Thanks, I did start reading that, might pick it up again. That's a good list too I've seen it posted before.
