How did Facebook connect me to an online date I have met once?

After coming out of a long time relationship I tried online dating a few moths ago. I got in touch with a woman on match.com, exchanged a few messages on the site, then a few text messages and met her once.

Last week i logged into Facebook and was surprised that she was in the list of suggested connections. I log into Facebook every few months and don’t use any Facebook apps.

This is seriously creepy. I thought this was an anonymous thing and I am quite surprised that Facebook was able to connect me to her.

I wonder now how they did it. Are they reading all text messages or do they have a contract with match.com?
