Amazon is rolling back Covid protocols in warehouses (themarkup.org)

Perfect timing. If your goal was to spread omicron as widely as possible. Not great timing if you give a crap about public health.

Should the COVID protocols remain in place until the heat death of the Universe? Do we expect that new variants of COVID will ever stop? Do we expect COVID to be eradicated rather than being endemic? If the answer to all of those is "no", then what else should Amazon have waited for before doing this?

This seems like the time to do it. Half the people at the company I work for have tested positive in the last few days.
