> Scientists in the US are also claimed to have carried out similar experiments - with one expert saying that a humanzee was born before being killed by lab workers.

O___O

An early intimation of this is in The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/159

[ The story's narrator ] ... 'is left on the island home of Doctor Moreau, a mad scientist who creates human-like hybrid beings from animals via vivisection. The novel deals with a number of philosophical themes, including pain and cruelty, moral responsibility, human identity, and human interference with nature'. How utterly mundane though.

According to Sumerian Mythology (and a bunch of others) humans were created in much the same way to be used for hard labour instead of the 'Gods'.

Imagine back then, someone creates a new species and it gets a few likes and comments on their version of HN, and no-one really pays any attention, then a few thousand years later this new species is doing philosophy and wanting to know the 'deep meaning of life' lol

I would like to see it from a source other than The Sun before thinking there could be anything to this.
The biggest issue is not creating humanizes, as it would equally be racist to say they shouldn't exist, the issue is hybridizing sentient organisms with particularly well known sapience boundaries, and then aiming for organ harvesting
