TL;DR: They were kicked from every payment option and have no choice but to use cryptocurrencies, and now they have gotten richer from that.

Also:

Terrorists and far-right extremists also use Ethereum and the author admitted they they own some. Does that mean the author is also a far-right extremist?

Now I get why The Guardian writes such low quality articles like this one. Especially when one is so deeply obsessed with these groups.
