I have a 4k external monitor for my laptop and I really kinda hate it. Everything is too tiny and puts strain on my eyes. I could set apps up to have larger fonts, but I happen to have a lower resolution screen in another office, and so the settings would have to be changed whenever I go there. It's so annoying. The 2k X 3k pixel resolution, whatever it's called, is the best one for me.
Maybe someone with better eyesight than me would spot something, but I really cannot tell the difference between a 4k monitor and a 1080. Likewise with a refresh rate that is twice what my current monitors use.
I mean, if someone wants that sure, why not, but wouldn't that extra power be better spent to eke out more battery life? Because I wasn't annoyed with how things look on my monitors for...at least 15 years. What I AM annoyed with however, constantly, is how quickly batterys go flat.
