I don’t give a damn about Christmas, family does so I partake for the sake of them. But NYE celebrations is my thing. So happy new year to all and I hope 2022 brings more joy and prosperousness than 2021.
We are keeping it quiet, in terms of gathering, but are making sure to connect with everyone, exchange well wishes, news and just encouraging thoughts of a better year to come.
In some ways, these last couple years have been painful, and more lonely for those of us who crave other people and the energy that tends to come with gatherings of most any kind.
But, in other ways, it's been really good! There are many things I have learned to do remotely, and or just in a more lean manner, less wasteful than before. Covid and the mess to deal with has me thinking differently, and it's just not all bad.
When I think about return to normal, one part of me is depressed because it's over. We are not going back to that state at all. It all could reach a point where it doesn't look much different, but long before we arrive there, it seems to me we will just grow into a new kind of normal and ideally build on it for a new day, era, whatever frame makes sense.
To that end, happy new year everyone!
End of an era of sorts. I'm cautiously excited about this new one we are headed into.
