The implied comparison of the accuracy of orbital mechanics with that of climate prediction is absurdist.
I haven't written any software to either of those, but I've written software for other very dissimilar purposes in the past decades, and learned something about them. I don't have real expertise in the substance of those fields, but I have real expertise in bug reports dealing with those fields.

AFAICT, no two fields can be so different that lay people won't make similar stupid mistakes and similar confident assertions.

Saying that third pounder is bigger than quarter pounder is accurate too. But the point that went over your head is that majority won't believe it.
