The killer feature for me is the "infinite play" feature. It does a really good job of keeping the vibe going, but with diversity, showing me new songs and new artists. It also works really well as a recommendation engine, so I don't understand that side of the complaint. Since switching to it from a local library I've been discovering great new music with less effort.
