Nobody learned the most important lesson from Multics vs. Unix (youtube.com)

I don't feel that it's just Google trying to replicate this, but Microsoft and Apple as well.. Microsoft and Apple just have more legacy code to rewrite to reach this goal.

I think the lesson has definitely been learned, some just learned it later than others.
