I thought it was really interesting that Safari on iOS apparently has some support for this API. Usually Safari is far behind the other vendors in support for this sort of stuff, but they even beat mobile Chrome.
Personally, I'm really excited for this API or something equivalent to be standardized. It will really expand what is possible to do in the browser. For example, I wrote a plugin that lets TiddlyWiki autosave to disk https://github.com/slaymaker1907/TW5-browser-nativesaver.
