I show only interested in programming, Tech

I am senior engineer but when the task involves business use cases I will be demotivated to work but if it is tech related I will be more enthusiastic to work on.. so because of this my performance is stuck..for others I look like still I have academic mindset which may be true..Any body with me? How you guys overcame this
