This is why establishing trust is critical to any high performance org. It’s the basis of much of Military Spec Ops training. What makes SEALs, SF, Rangers and other SOCOM units so effective is how well they screen members for trust. They would rather have a mid-level performer with high trust than a high level performer with low trust. No one has the time/energy to be checking up on what is assigned or what you say will be done. You have to trust it explicitly. This is what makes these organizations hyper-effective. When trust is low procedures, process, and bureaucracy take over - all of which leads to incredible inefficiencies. I like to say Trust is currency.
