That does nothing except removing a useful metaphor. I don't think it will help abused children (in the same way calling your most important branch "main" does not seems to help... uhm who was that supposed to help or help feel better?), and it will just lead to confusion as you try to find a new term (like the main branch).
I may be wrong of course.
Btw, my first guess would have been that this was about ColoRectal Cancers. It's not.
Ignoring the pedant points of legal consent and word use² because that'll yank the thread even further off-topic: what do you suggest as an alternative? The “quantum superposition cat” is actually fairly catchy IMO, but not as catchy as Schrödinger's cat and that is likely very important if you want the general public to ever transition to a new term.
[1] IIRC he didn't do anything that would have been illegal under the law where he lived at the time, and basing things on thought crimes is generally accepted to be a bad way forward. This is not a Jimmy Saville like situation.
[2] Ephebophilia is probably what you mean, paedophilia refers specifically to prepubescents and I've seen no evidence that his interests were in those who were not post puberty. If you are going the thought crime route, at least define the crime right.
Einstein wasn't a good person in his private life[1], but that doesn't mean we should dispose his work. The metaphor of the Schrödinger cat doesn't have nothing to do with him personally (outside of being his creator), so I don't know what we should stop using that terminology.
If you think we should stop using it for other reasons, let us know. I'm personally interested in your opinion since we don't think the same way.
