Good job not reading the article, making an assumption, and commenting on the situation.

Her surgery is being delayed because hospitals are being overwhelmed by COVID-19. The exact same thing is happening in the US. It has nothing to do with universal healthcare.

Health care is always rationed by "death panels." First lesson in every economics class is about scarcity, and even in a rich economy health care is a "scarce" commodity.

But... pick your "death panel" depending on which side of Lake Ontario/St Lawrence/49th parallel you live on; your insurance company / employer / bank -- or a panel of doctors, medical professionals, and hospital administrators. I know which I would pick.

Are you talking about those who refuse to get vaccinated causing excess strain on the healthcare system?
