Ask HN: Why so many DI libraries for the JVM?

1 points by rco8786 ↗ HN
Can anyone help me understand why there are seemingly dozens of different libraries for DI/IOC for JVM languages? From what I can tell they all do the exact same thing just with slightly different syntaxes/patterns. Is there any canonical guide out there for choosing one, or even something that helps shed some context on why various versions exist? (I’m specifically interested in the context of server-side Kotlin, but open to all resources)
