Poll: Would you work in the Mission, SF?

This is for engineers working in the SF Bay Area.

We're looking at office space, and people are telling me that office space in SOMA is now twice as expensive as it is in the Mission.

There seems to be an up-and-coming ecosystem of startups in the Mission (e.g., Posterous is at 16th and Mission). On the other hand, the Mission is far from Caltrain and its vibe isn't for everyone.

My concern is with recruiting: do people want to work in the Mission, would they work in the Mission for the right company, or would working in the Mission be a dealbreaker?

I'd also be curious generally to have a conversation about commercial rental real estate in SF right now and other options.

What exactly are you worried about? You are more likely to get harsh words from Jello Biafra than a drive-by....

I lived there years ago and visited recently. It has changed in interesting ways. There is still good drink and food. There are cool autumn events like Lit Quake.

The parking sucks but you are near BART and fairly frequent bus-lines.

Go for it!
