Strange that this is the second boomerang worker article I've seen today...
I am currently in a boomerang situation, and planning an exit. I received a large pay increase and title bump to come back, but not much progression since then. I'm starting to feel as though they think I'm a lifer and don't need to try hard to keep me. Not only am I frustrated with the lack of career progression, but nobody is interested at all in doing the things I'm doing. I have so much more institutional knowledge that exists only in my head than when I came back.
I could go on, but won't. The point is that this pro-boomerang movement offers some short-term benefits but likely leads to a worse situation long-term. There's a reason they left you.
