This license service was installed with a program that I later uninstalled. But it didn't remove itself. I need to manually remove the service definition and the files:

  - C:\Windows\System32\Crypserv.exe
  - C:\Windows\Ckconfig.exe
  - C:\Windows\Ckrfresh.exe
  - C:\Windows\Setup_ck.dll
  - C:\Windows\Setup_ck.exe
  - C:\Windows\Crypkey.ini
  - C:\Windows\error.log
  - C:\Windows\errord.log
I really wish we had legislation against obnoxious DRM. If I break into somebody else's computer actively there are a bunch of different laws I'll break in different countries around the world, most of which have criminal penalties. A scheme like the one in this article however is very negligently unsafe and arguably malicious in its original intent. Yet a victim would have to prove a civil tort and face an uphill battle to do so.
