503 error as of this posting, 12:12 EST. My kids attempting to login using the mobile app receive an error that authentication servers are not available.
My comment never said that this outage 'WAS' got to do with web3.
That is why I said 'IF', given that Roblox plans on moving to the metaverse and web3, hence the 'quotations'.
So 'IF' this continues and they move to 'the metaverse', it will not only get worse, but it will create an outage domino effect crossing towards others services ('or metaverses')
Well, then it was simply an odd off topic comment to insert into a discussion like this. You could jump to just about any tech issue in that way-- chip shortages, computer security, software bugs, etc. Without a more direct link it broadens the discussion in a strange way. In the case of web 3 or crypto where people have somewhat ideological viewpoints it's potentially damaging to the ability to talk about the specific topic at hand. That is what struck me as odd.
And now it seems to be back online. Short outage at least.
Edit: Spoke too soon. Website is back, and but my kids can only login, not play anything, and are getting booted out w/ authentication servers problems often.
