I remember the FBI noted, a couple years back, that white supremacists have successfully infiltrated law-enforcement organizations. I wouldn't expect the FBI to be imune to infiltration.
People that crave authority are often drawn to jobs like this, age old problem. Yet I firmly believe that intelligence agencies are more and more abused for political play and that this trend has increased.
White supremacists are the most protected gangs from prosecution.
police will scour Facebook for photos of thumbs up that they can mistake as a gang sign. Meanwhile people fly confederate flags from their trucks with no fear.
The supposed kidnapping plot against the governor of Michigan is illustrative. Three-quarters of the conspirators in that case were actual undercover federal agents or paid informants.
It was a message to Governors to not take public health seriously and of course it involved law enforcement officers, many who won’t mask or vaccinate.
I'm not sure of the percentages, but that same article includes this quote: "He was not alone. The F.B.I. deployed at least 12 informants, as well as several undercover agents, according to defense filings."
It depends on who one is counting as a conspirator, and 3/4 may well be an overstatement, but it seems true that a surprising number of the people involved were employed by the FBI in some capacity.
“Friday’s published report said that the leak comprised about 400GB of data and came from a self-hosted instance of RocketChat, an open source chat server that’s similar to Slack and Discord. It’s only the latest example of a hate group being hacked and its private discussions being dumped online. In 2019, the breach of the Iron March website revealed, among other things, that many of its members were members of the US Marines, Navy, Army, and military reserves.”
I am wondering, how “real” are these white suprematists that we keep hearing about for past 2 years? It seemed they were a rare breed until recently, and now this term gets thrown a lot - yet I am still to meet such a person in real life.

Do you have a source for three quarters?
