I wish more people would see this HN thread and video. This is a truly amazing and well produced hobby video.
I'm interested in the topic, but not interested enough to suffer through a 32 minute long video that could instead be an article with pictures that I could read through faster and refer back to.
Loved this video, but I wonder why he thought lights that generally would operate on 50/60Hz would induce a 1kHz pulse signal into his circuit. He seemed too smart for that conclusion, for dramatic effect perhaps?
LED lights and power supplies might have higher frequency noise, so that wasn't that unreasonable to think the lights might be the source.
