The performance sensitive stuff (e.g. I/O, etc) written in Cython and Rust. Under the hood all EdgeQL queries are compiled to an equivalent Postgres query.
EdgeDB employee here. The proactivity is appreciated, but EdgeDB 1.0 isn't actually available yet. We do have a launch event coming in a couple weeks however [0].
