Ask HN: Advice on good stockbroker / trading platform

I am day trading and want certain features from my broker.

I'm currently on a spread betting provider because it offers a lot of features:

5:1 leverage Able to buy part of a stock Long/short both allowed Stop loss facility *Trade any stock on the NYSE

But there's a single problem: The provider has fees based on a spread, which can range from $30 a stock to $300 a stock. Per day.

So I want a broker with the 5 above features, but fixed fees, say $10 or $15 a stock. Then I can make a good profit.

Does anyone know of such a broker in the USA? (CFDs don't count because you can only trade select stocks).

The reason I didn't post to Quora is that most replies about stock trading tend to be close to gibberish.

Finally, just a note: Google fails utterly to find any brokers with the above features. The search results are just a load of garbage.
