Hi HN!

I put this in the wrong section of the site yesterday my side project I've worked on for the last 4 odd years finally released.

I'm also on product hunt here:

https://www.producthunt.com/posts/gravametrics

Happy to take any questions / feedback

There is a typo "What are you wating for?". Also, no screenshots of the product on the main page (I'm on mobile) Which makes the pricing seem super high, since at a first glance you dont even have a vague idea about what you're buying
Whoops fixed that typo lol. As I've said with others i'll put in more actual screenshots rather than those stock images.
Hey, this could be cool, I’m always on the lookout for fast graphing software for dashboards - grafana was what I used last but it didn’t quite hit the spot for me

Some site feedback and first impressions:

As a user I need to see your product early, I see lots of generic corporate graphics but no screenshots (visiting from mobile). So I can’t figure out what I’m getting. I watched the video but it was just the same, and at that point I’d internally made the call not to invest more time searching

I’d ask you to turn down the scroll entry animations, these are more of a hinderance than attractive. I understand the signal is to be flashy, but that needs to be used with tact to work

However, If I was linked to this page instead:

https://gravametrics.com/docs/content/

I’m 100x more likely to explore the product, it’s plain and clear and makes a good impression. If I found the homepage in the wild I would have given up before finding that page

I'll look at adding actual screenshots from the product, thanks for the feedback.

I will reduce the animations as well.

If you’re selling dashboarding, you need to show that dashboarding really quickly. I looked at the site, skipped through the video and saw nothing. I did see something on the docs site, but I was lost at that point.

You are competing with https://grafana.com/, https://www.metabase.com/, https://superset.apache.org/, etc.

I would go further and say, in a crowded space like that with some excellent free options (i'd also add https://redash.io/ to the list which is very pleasant to work with), you need to show what actually differentiates you from those free and mature solutions.
Got it I've heard other say this feedback. I'll look at changing the graphics
Others have commented about the lack of clarity in the homepage so I'll skip that part. I like the multiple data sources part. I think that's big.

There is no tool today marketed at developers that helps them look at all their data and further script it. You either put everything in a data warehouse or you write custom scripts.

As soon as you're not querying sql, your sql IDE and even metabase are useless. (And this isn't to say sql IDEs are bad, they are awesome, just more limited in scope than what developers actually query when you look at their whole data ecosystem.)

I'm working on this too. A desktop data IDE for developers to query, script and graph all their data sources. And a server edition for teams to do the same plus have recurring exports and alerts like you're doing.

I think you're on the right path. Good luck!
