Ask HN: Why is the new M1 Pro 14“ taking so long to deliver

Recently ordered the Apple M1 Pro via apple.com/ca. This is after checking a physical store where they said they don't have the 32GB memory configuration in-house.

Apple initially gave few days estimate to deliver it. They later reached saying the delivery would now be three weeks :-/

I wonder what's with the 14" M1 Pro 32GB RAM config :-?

Possibly https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020–2022_global_chip_shortage, but could be anything, including high demand.

These delivery times for apple products have been normal since Covid. Especially after Christmas all the stocks are empty. Be patient.
