I don't understand why silly design outcomes like this make me smile, but they make me smile nonetheless. Something about it just manages to tickle both my inner engineer and my inner jester in equal measure.
It's made all the sweeter by the notion that, eventually, someone somewhere will find a way to use this emoji and be completely earnest about it.
Agreed, it's an amusing and wholesome story. Shame we live in a world where not everyone agrees. As the author said,

I sincerely tried to understand that article. Nearly tapped out a few times from brain bleeds but I managed to reach the end. Guess I'll have to take his word for it why this emoji has arrived.
