Data for a prototype/demo

Apologies if this has been asked before (probably more than once) this is my 1st post and I am unable to find the search facility.

I am in the process of prototyping an analytics tool. I need a good set of real world data a twitter scrape would be the best but I'll take what I can get.

I have also been looking into how to scrape twitter for data myself - any tips in that vein would be greatly appreciated.
