There is a building in San Jose just north of 280 near 17 that was built this way. I traveled along there regularly when it was being constructed and got to watch the floors being hung from the top.
If memory serves, it is this building at 3031 Tisch Way:
I have contemplated a style of 3d printing a tall building using many small robots similar to kiva robots. Robots would be free to move on a large flat concrete building site. As the building is built, the robots would move around under it adding concrete or other building materials at various points and pushing upward. Multiple robots would be able to work simultaneously and build in parallel on a very large structure without a bottleneck like a single gantry moving around.
I've got something even faster for small buildings, but this would still be good for very large ones.
