Donors’ data of the Freedom Convoy protest exposed in S3 Bucket (techcrunch.com)

For additional context, donor data include passports and driver licenses.

Any ideas why people had to give passports or driver's licenses? I've never had to show ID to make a charitable donation (and I would not donate if I had to)
