Embrace Remote Work. Its hard to detect age if you color your hair or wear toupee and its illegal to ask age during interviews. Covid has been a blessing. I am also betting on video software's to remove wrinkles in my skin.
they can compute age based on bachelor degree and high school dates.
Then don't list dates on your resume
I went back to school in an attempt to get a second degree but never actually finished. I still put it on my resume. The thing is it was 10 years ago and obscures my first degree from 20 years ago! The downside is it lumps me in with other candidates from that era.
Degrees get verified on background checks. If an employer wants to age discriminate, that won't stop them.
Its a lot of work to verify age. What is actually happening is if you look old they discriminate based on assumption. People overestimate age of bald people like myself.
That's why it's also not a great idea to put a photo on your resume.
Is the best strategy to resolve discrimination against X to pretend one is not X?

Absolutely yes, if you want to minimize downside to yourself
That depends on whether you want to fix the world today, or get a job today.
