Less gasoline, insurance, wear-and-tear, etc.

These drivers also take on significant personal risk: lifetime odds of dying in a car accident are about 1:100 — and that’s for people who aren’t typically driving all day. Odds of being permanently disabled? About 1:20… again, for people who typically don’t drive all day.

IMO they are not adequately compensated for the risk and costs.
