This seems highly unfounded, unless you have some special concern. It should be possible to read things without being radicalized. Approach it with skepticism, pick apart the flaws in arguments, fact check claims, etc. It's always good to know what the "other side" is thinking or reading (regardless of what your current side is).
If you bought the book through a reputable dealer, then I would think the dealer would have removed any "forbidden" texts. Otherwise, wouldn't they be frozen for selling?
