Once again the common civilian pays the price
You mean the common civilian in Ukraine, surely?
y'all need to stop pretending you're in lord of the rings
You are not speaking to a y'all. Are you alluding to a dualist world-view?
Are there widespread protests by the common civilian in Russia right now? If not I have no sympathy.
There are.

Please understand there are many voices in Russia, and many are furious and terrified.

Terrified of losing access to Pornhub and OnlyFans?
Protesting in Russia against Putin takes some balls, and yet many are doing it
If I were in Russia, I don't know what I'd do. I tend to be the fiery type but the outbreak of war is a terrible time to disappear for my family.

Russian state media has cast the spectre of treason over anyone protesting the war. [1]. Even before that long prison sentences were common for even peaceful non-seditious protests. [2]

Despite this, a couple thousand Russians have publicly protested and been arrested. [3] It's both sad and brave. Since protests are illegal people go on "walks" with the crowd. Someone will hold up a little placard saying "No war!" and get immediately dragged off by the police. That's the allowed degree of protest.

The ones not brave enough to do that still have my sympathy.

Oh come on. Let us not be so intellectually dishonest here. We are not reddit.

There are many Russians who just want to live a normal life. NATO coming close to the borders of Russia is causing their leadership to go crazy and we want the civilians to suffer because of this?

If you are not raising your voice, you're the problem is the worst argument ever and reeks of privilege.

Why are these companies grouped together in the headline? Is this a subtle jab at Twitch that they serve the same content as OnlyFans?
I can't find any sources on this. That's fake.

I see a lot of Russian streamers who stream right now.

It took me two seconds one twitter to find a ton of onlyfans creators complaining about this.

They aren't being banned from using the site- so they can still stream and sell stuff- but they are being blocked from cashing out their earnings. It makes sense that people are still using the site, as this block is probably temporary and they will get access to the money eventually. From a technical standpoint it looks like the sites just "unverified" the bank connections, and aren't allowing new ones.

It seems like part of this is due to the fact that these sites used one of the banks that is currently sanctioned to handle the money conversation. People are still allowed to transfer to PayPal and convert there, but the rates are much worse. Since Twitch and OnlyFans haven't made a statement it's also possible they're looking into using one of the banks that isn't sanctioned yet.

The monetization is frozen you can still use the sites.
Now that is going to harm a lot of hard working Russians…
Pornhub, Onlyfans and Twitch blocked in Russia - surely this is a positive thing for Russia.
It's funny because if you read past the headlines and try to understand the motivations of Russia, much of it boils down to wanting to "keep the more corrosive elements of US culture" at bay, which makes this a desired side-effect.
