Apple Invents a new Mac that takes on the form factor of their Magic Keyboard (patentlyapple.com) 6 points by caaqil 4y ago ↗ HN
[–] slater 4y ago ↗ They reinvented the C-64 form factor? [–] echoradio 4y ago ↗ Or the Raspberry Pi 400? [–] WalterGR 4y ago ↗ I had to look that up. Couple links:https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-400/https://www.amazon.com/seeed-studio-Raspberry-Personal-Inclu... (One of many kits sold on Amazon.) [–] adamredwoods 4y ago ↗ That's what I thought, too. Can the patent be challenged or is this more about the heating vents? [–] digisign 4y ago ↗ VIC-20, only thinner. ;-)

[–] 800xl 4y ago ↗ So a MacBook without a monitor?I do like this idea though. I would rather integrate the CPU into the keyboard instead of those gorgeous 5K displays, which limits their lifespans. Seems like such a waste. [–] bzzzt 4y ago ↗ I’m worried about the longevity of Apple keyboards… [–] slater 4y ago ↗ Typing this from Yes-one-of-THOSE-2017-Macbook-Pros, apparently their keyboard woes were fixed once they ditched the issue-prone butterfly design. [–] bzzzt 4y ago ↗ Typing on a "it's fixed this time, really" MacBook pro 2019 which seems to suffer from double keypresses regardless I'm sceptical...
