It amazes me that we have regular, comprehensive reports showing that almost every ecosystem and natural process we depend on will collapse by the end of the century and most will be functionally degraded in less than twenty years, no one even seriously disputes them any more, and still the collective action needed to avoid this is non-existent or lip service. It's like the whole human race is waiting until the night before the project is due - at which point it will of course be too late.
