That's weird, the encirclement maneuver [1] on the eastern Ukraine seems to be going great for the Russians [2]. Can you do a massive sophisticated maneuver like that in a couple of days with bad and exclusively short-range communication?

If your vehicles don't break down and you aren't attacked, yes, but plenty of that gear was already in place due to 'little green men'. That's also how MH17 was shot down from within Ukrainian territory with a rocket that Russia claimed was never there.
For many years already the Eastern part of Ukraine was effectively already under Russian control from the Russian border to about 1/3rd into Donetsk and Luhansk and the Crimea, all of which are used as staging areas. Finally, Livejournal is mostly frequented by Russians and I would not necessarily trust anything on there without a lot of independent verification, tons of propaganda out there.
they wanted to take Kiev in 72 hours. I don't think I would call it "going great for Russians" Some troops / people in the troops have good equipment, but seems that a lot of communication is going through short-range communication

In the meantime, Russia asked all of their allies for help.
