Looking for a Consulting Coach

2 points by __afk__ ↗ HN
I've recently set out on my own as a freelancer / consultant specializing in knowledge graph work. I'm good at what I do, have some pretty specialized and hard to find knowledge and so far am loving the new set of skills I need to develop and refine. But I don't know what I don't know and think maybe a coach would be a Good Thing. Maybe not ready for Alan Weiss himself, but somebody who can help me up my game. Any ideas for me? Thanks!

Your title would conventionally be prefixed with "Ask HN:". Your chances of getting a useful answer might improve.

This is irrelevant (not to be harsh). The question is what problem do people (businesses) have that you solve. I used to think similarly, I had a phd, and I knew a lot of "specialized" stuff that takes a long time to understand. Turns our nobody cared.

Obviously I know nothing about your position so maybe you're past this. But my advice is to make sure you frame your work in terms of how you can help with a problem someone has (including who has this problem, what they're doing now, etc), and not what special skills or knowledge you have
